Before hiring us, make sure to fill out our online form with as much detail as possible. Once we get it, one of our moving specialists will email or call you to set up a virtual walkthrough of your home. Show us every room and make sure to mention that you want to add our full service packing to your move!
Once we get all the information, we’ll create a custom moving plan that fits your needs. You can then review the plan and provide feedback or more information so we can further finetune the offer. From there, we’ll request an inventory of everything we need to pack that you’ll need to send us prior to the move.
Create an Inventory
If you’ve never created an inventory before, it’s fairly straightforward. Create a spreadsheet of all the items you plan on bringing with you. You can get as granular as you want, but make sure to include things like total amount, room, and any notes. Make sure to take pictures of each item so you can have a record of the item’s starting condition.
Once you’ve completed your inventory, send it over to the movers so they know exactly what to pack. Ideally, you should only have the items in the inventory in your apartment when the packers come.
Add On Unpacking
If you don’t want to deal with the hassle of unpacking, make sure to request this service during the walkthrough. Many movers provide this service, though it will cost you more. Since the packers will have packed and labeled everything properly, they should know where to put the boxes. It’s up to you to provide feedback if you want an item placed somewhere else.
The unpacking service might cost you more, but it’s certainly worth the money as you don’t have to worry about living out of boxes for the next few days. And speaking of boxes, after they are done unpacking, the movers will take the boxes with them!
