The Best Financial District Movers
While there are plenty of iconic locations in Manhattan, none of them are as well-known as the Financial District, or FiDi for short. It’s home to the New York Stock Exchange, numerous financial institutions, the Charging Bull sculpture, and much more. There’s more to the Financial District than the stock market and banks. And while there’s a certain buzzy energy during the day time, at night you can enjoy the much quieter atmosphere. Of course, that doesn’t mean the neighborhood is lacking in the fine dining or shopping scene. Everything you need is nearby, making this a great place to live for families and young professionals.
Getting around the Financial District can be tricky, especially with a large moving truck. Luckily, if you hire us to help with your relocation, we’ll do all the hard work for you! Our moving crew know FiDi like the back of our hands and can easily navigate the confusing and narrow streets. If you need anything else from us, let us know! We offer plastic bin rentals, packing and unpacking, storage, and more!

Our Top Financial District Moving Tips
Cost of Living
You pay a premium if you want to live in the Financial District. Average rents for a one bedroom cost around $4,000 and buying a place will cost around $1.3 million, and that’s for a condo, not an actual house. Of course, if you want to live, work, and play in the same area, the cost might be worth it!
Transportation
If you plan on going to other parts of Manhattan then you’re in luck. There are plenty of subway stations thanks to the Fulton Center station, the largest transit hub in NYC. You can hop on almost every subway station. There are also several local and express bus routes through the neighborhood. You can also take a relaxing ride on the water at Pier 11/Wall Street to Brooklyn or New Jersey.
Crime and Safety
The Financial District is one of the safest neighborhoods in Manhattan and it has lower overall crime rates than the rest of the city as a whole. It is served by one police department and three fire departments.
What to Do and See
There’s so much to look at in the Financial District that it’s almost overwhelming. Perhaps two of the most recognizable buildings today are the Freedom Tower located at One World Trade Center, the 7th tallest building in the world and the tallest building in the United States, and the Oculus, the main station house of the transit hub for downtown Manhattan. Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the Oculus original design was meant to represent a bird being released from a child’s hand. Though the design changed several times from the beginning, it still evokes a bird-like image.
If architecture isn’t your thing, then check out the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, one of the most expansive collections of Native artifacts in the entire Western Hemisphere. Plus, it’s free to visit! Want to do some shopping? Head inside the Oculus and enjoy all the stores at Westfield where you’ll be able to find high-end and well-known brands. And if you get hungry, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Outside of the Oculus, there are plenty of other dining options available including L’Appart, a Michelin star French Restaurant. If you prefer something a bit more affordable, check out White Horse Tavern for some tasty Irish fare and good pints.
