The Best Astoria Movers
Just east of the Empire State Building, Murray Hill is named after Roberty Murray, a merchant whose family had a large estate in what is now the current neighborhood. Full of history and residential charm, this neighborhood offers a bit of an oasis from the bustling streets of Midtown while still being just a few blocks from all the restaurants, bars, and amenities you could want. It was also designated as a historic district by the New York City Landmarks and Preservations Commissions back in 2002 and the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
Moving to Murray Hill is as easy as calling NYC Great Movers. We’ll help you get settled into your new place in no time flat. Our basic moving service includes basic disassembly, wardrobe box rentals so you can keep your hanging clothes on the hanger, and of course, expert handling of your boxes. But if you need more, we also offer high quality moving supplies, plastic bin rentals, and short and long-term storage. So what are you waiting for? Reach out to us and we’ll work with you to create a customized moving plan.

Our Top Murray Hill Moving Tips
Cost of Living
Located in the heart of Manhattan, Murray Hill is a sought after neighborhood. The rent for a one-bedroom is between $3,500 to $4,500 a month though you may be able to find something cheaper if you look hard enough.
Transportation
Traveling is easy thanks to the amount of public transportation options available. Hop on the 4, 5, 6, trains to travel on the eastside of Manhattan. Or hop on the Shuttle to get access to all of the trains connecting to Times Square. Want to get out of Manhattan? Head to Grand Central Station and take one of the metro north lines to Westchester or Connecticut.
Crime and Safety
Compared to the rest of the city, Murray Hill’s crime rates are much lower overall, though the area does see high rates of property crime. Still the area has become much safer thanks to the work of the local police department. As well, the area is served by one fire department.
What to Do and See
Just walking around the neighborhood is a great experience as much of it is considered a historic district. Enjoy the beautiful tree-lined streets or take your time to appreciate the architecture inside Grand Central Station. Then head south to go to the Morgan Library & Museum, which houses a large collection of rare books, drawings, paintings, maps, and other objects. While you’re there, you can grab some afternoon tea in the cafe! Then enjoy a stroll in St. Vartan Park or go further east and walk along the East River Esplanade and enjoy the views of Queens.
Murray Hill is a mostly residential neighborhood, but there are a few good restaurants nearby to keep foodies satisfied. Tipsy Shanghai is a great place for some authentic Shanghainese cuisine. For a simple and affordable brunch or lunch experience, head to Hole in the Wall near the 34th street ferry landing. Other popular favorites include Hill and Bay for its craft beer options and The Ainsworth for traditional American fare.
