2. Booking, Rescheduling, and Cancellations
- Confirming Your Booking: To confirm your move, we require a signed agreement and a deposit. This ensures your spot on our schedule and allows us to arrange for necessary resources.
- Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your move, notify us as soon as possible. Full refunds on deposits are available if cancellations are made at least 48 hours in advance. Cancellations within 48 hours may incur a cancellation fee.
- Rescheduling Your Move: We understand plans can change. You may reschedule your move at no additional cost by providing us with at least 48 hours’ notice. Rescheduling requests within 48 hours are subject to availability and may incur fees.
3. Rates and Payment Terms
- Standard Pricing: Our rates depend on factors such as service type, season, distance, and other specific requirements. Your quote includes a breakdown of these costs and any optional services.
- Accepted Payment Methods: Payment is due in full upon completion of services. We accept cash, major credit cards, and certified checks. Other forms of payment may be accepted upon agreement.
- Additional Charges: Extra fees may apply for special handling, stairs, extra stops, or items requiring special equipment. Any additional fees will be disclosed upfront.
4. Customer Responsibilities
Your cooperation helps us deliver the best moving experience possible. Please ensure:
- Preparation: All items not included in our packing services are packed, labeled, and ready for transport.
- Accessibility: Ensure our team has safe and unrestricted access to the property. For buildings requiring elevator reservations or parking permits, please secure these ahead of time.
- Valuables and Personal Documents: NYC Great Movers is not liable for cash, jewelry, personal documents, or sentimental items unless disclosed and explicitly documented in advance.
- Presence or Proxy: You, or a person acting on your behalf, must be present during the move to verify instructions and confirm the completion of services.
5. Liability and Limitations
We take great care in handling your belongings, but certain limitations apply:
- Standard Liability: NYC Great Movers provides a standard liability coverage based on weight. Higher levels of insurance are available upon request.
- Fragile and Perishable Items: Items such as plants, perishables, or breakables not packed by our team are transported at your own risk unless explicitly stated in the agreement.
- Events Beyond Our Control: We are not liable for delays, damages, or losses caused by factors beyond our control, including weather, traffic delays, and natural events.
6. Claims and Dispute Resolution
- Damage Claims: If any items are damaged during the move, notify us within 72 hours of completion. We’ll work with you to investigate and resolve any issues promptly.
- Dispute Resolution Process: In the unlikely event of a dispute, we prioritize an amicable resolution. If necessary, unresolved disputes may be directed to mediation or arbitration in compliance with local jurisdiction requirements.
7. Storage Services
If utilizing our storage facilities:
- Storage Terms: Storage services are billed on a monthly basis. To prevent late fees or penalties, please ensure timely payments.
- Access to Stored Items: You can access stored belongings by scheduling an appointment with us, typically with at least 24 hours’ notice.
- Storage Liability: While our facilities are climate-controlled and secure, NYC Great Movers is not liable for loss or damage due to external events like natural disasters or facility-related issues beyond our control.
8. Property Protection and Limitations
NYC Great Movers makes every effort to protect your property during the move. However, customers should be aware of the following:
- Bulky and Large Items: Heavy or oversized items may require additional handling, which may impact scheduling or fees. Discuss any special items with our team when arranging services.
- Building and Apartment Rules: If your building has moving restrictions, please communicate this in advance. We’re not liable for issues arising from property-specific regulations or access limitations.
- Parking and Traffic: NYC Great Movers will take necessary steps to secure parking, but any fees or fines related to public parking are the customer’s responsibility.
9. Use of Packing Materials
If you purchase or rent packing supplies:
- Supply Quality: NYC Great Movers provides high-quality, durable packing materials. However, we cannot guarantee the condition of items packed in customer-supplied materials.
- Returning Rented Materials: Rented items, such as plastic bins, must be returned within the agreed-upon time. Failure to return rented materials may result in additional charges.
