The Best Castle Point Movers

You might think that Castle Point got its name because of the castle located in the area, but it was actually given that name because of its supposed resemblance to the Castilian coast. This small neighborhood is located at the highest point of Hoboken and has also been designated a historic district. As such you can enjoy spectacular views of the NYC skyline as you walk along the historic neighborhood.

If you plan on moving to Castle Point, make sure to call NYC Great Movers a call! Don’t be fooled by our name, we serve many areas in New Jersey including Hoboken! Plus, since so many people consider Hoboken the sixth NYC borough, any move you make from NYC to Hoboken will be considered a local move so you can expect an affordable flat, hourly rate. Need more help with your move? We can provide you with moving supplies, plastic bins, short and long term storage, and more. Moving from out-of-state? We can help you with your long-distance moves as well!

Our Top Moving Tips

Our Top Castle Point Moving Tips

Cost of Living

Compared to the rest of Hoboken, Castle Point tends to be on the more expensive side for two reasons: the historic district classification and Stevens Institute of Technology. Both of these factors mean rents are slightly higher with the average cost of a one-bedroom sitting at around $2,500. However, you do get access to the beautiful waterfront and walking paths.

Transportation

While you’re not far from public transportation, the PATH train is still about a half mile away from Castle Point. While it’s not so bad walking to the train station, the walk from the station can be difficult as you’ll be walking up a hill. Hoboken in general is quite walkable so you don’t really need a car and you can catch the NJ Transit at the same place as the PATH for easy travel around the major New Jersey cities.

Crime and Safety

Hoboken itself is quite safe and Castle Point is actually even safer than the rest of the city thanks to Stevens. Crime rates here are lower than the New Jersey average. Besides the NYPD, you also have campus security keeping an eye on Stevens and the surrounding area during all hours of the day.

What to Do and See

The biggest draw of Castle Point is the view. You get some of the best views of Lower Manhattan thanks to its elevation. Head over to Castle Point lookout for panoramic views of the Hudson River. You can also take pictures next to the Steven’s cannon, a historical artifact that was said to have been brought over from France during the American Revolution. After that, head down to Sybil’s Cave, a cave excavated in 1832 that features a natural spring. Look for the Gothic-style arch entrance. Are you a skateboarder? Then you’re in luck! Bring your skateboard with you and head over to the Castle Point Skate Park to practice your moves.
