The Best Manhattan Valley Movers
Located between West Harlem and the Upper West Side, Manhattan Valley provides all the benefits of living in the Upper West Side at a more affordable price. You get access to Central Park, beautiful brownstones and tree-lined streets, waterfront access, and a great selection of restaurants. Manhattan Valley is the perfect neighborhood if you want a more laid-back Manhattan experience.

Our Top Manhattan Valley Moving Tips
Cost of Living
While the neighborhood has gentrified since the 2000s, Manhattan Valley is still on the more affordable side, especially when compared to the Upper West Side. You can easily find a one-bedroom apartment for $2,500 and, if you’re lucky, the rent may be stabilized!
Transportation
When it comes to getting around, Manhattan Valley offers great accessibility as you can hop on the 1, 2, 3, B, and C trains. There’s also plenty of bus routes if those trains don’t take you where you need to go.
Crime and Safety
Manhattan Valley’s crime rates are higher than NYC overall, but it has been decreasing since the 1990s. Today, you probably really only need to worry if you’re walking by yourself late at night on the streets or through Central Park.
What to Do and See
Of course, the biggest attraction of Manhattan Valley is Central Park. Spanning 843 acres, it is the sixth largest park in NYC and the largest one in Manhattan. It was also the very first landscaped park in the United States! It’s a perfect place to relax and enjoy a bit of nature in the concrete jungle. If you prefer being near the water, head further west to Riverside Park where you can enjoy stunning water vistas.
One of the downsides of the area is there isn’t too much in the way of nightlife so if you’re hoping to hit some bars or clubs, you might be better off heading further south. That doesn’t mean there’s nothing in the area. There are a few more laid-back options including Broadway Dive, a pretty low-key bar with craft beer or Tap a Keg if you want to enjoy a 7-hour happy hour. If you get hungry there are a lot of great restaurants serving a variety of food including Cafe Du Soleil which serves French food and Moon Kee restaurant that serves authentic Hong Kong cuisine.
