Budget Claremont Village Movers
Claremont Village is the perfect place if you’re looking for a quieter life while still having easy access to everything NYC has to offer. The neighborhood got its name after the Claremont mansion, which was a prominent feature of the area since the late 19th century. Unfortunately, the mansion is no longer there, but you can still see plenty of turn-of-the-century estates dotted around the neighborhood.
When moving to Claremont Village, you want reliable NYC movers who know how to navigate this historic neighborhood. NYC Great Movers is here to make it smooth and simple with professional packing, unpacking, storage solutions, and supplies like boxes and plastic bins. Our team understands the area and delivers friendly, affordable, and efficient moving services designed to help you settle in with ease.

Our Top Claremont Village Moving Tips
Cost of Living
Compared to Manhattan or certain parts of Brooklyn, Claremont Village is relatively affordable. Rent for a one-bedroom averages around $2,300 a month, though prices vary. If you’d like to purchase a house, expect to pay around $650,000, which is on the cheaper end when it comes to homes in NYC, especially for places that have good access to public transportation.
Transportation
Claremont Village has excellent access to public transportation, making commuting throughout the Bronx and into Manhattan manageable. You’ll find multiple bus routes nearby, as well as subway service along the 2, 4, and 5 train lines within walking distance, depending on where you live in the neighborhood. Major roadways such as the Cross Bronx Expressway and Webster Avenue offer quick connections for drivers as well.
Crime and Safety
Claremont Village has areas that are busier and more active than others. The neighborhood continues to benefit from strong community programs, neighborhood advocacy groups, and improved community services. With that said, crime is higher than the city average, so make sure you are aware of your surroundings and practice standard safety procedures.
What to Do and See
While Claremont Village is mostly residential, it does have a few landmarks and attractions. A local favorite is Claremont Park, a 38.54-acre park that features plenty of green space, a pool, playgrounds, and more. It’s a perfect place to visit for a fun weekend activity. If you want more nature, head to the east to visit Crotona Park, a 127-acre park that features plenty of sports fields, a beautiful 3.3-acre lake, and it boasts 28 varieties of tree species. You’re also just a stone’s throw away from the Bronx Zoo, as well as the Bronx Museum of Art and the Andrew Freedman Home.
Claremont Village doesn’t have much in the way of food options, but if you head just outside of the borders, you can enjoy some great food, including Grin, a restaurant serving traditional African food, and Jimmy’,s a classic NYC diner. There are also several options for fast food restaurants, delis, and small cafes. For a wider range of dining options, Bronx Little Italy on Arthur Avenue and the restaurants of Fordham Road are only a short ride away, offering bakeries, markets, and sit-down restaurants with some of the best Italian and global cuisine in NYC.
