Very reasonably priced for NYC, their estimate was accurate, they were on time, and they worked very efficiently. I had to be at work when they moved my stuff and they were extremely flexible about communicating with me and my parents, who were there to let them into the apartments. They were also great about disassembling and reassembling my bed and nothing was damaged. I only used them for large furniture because it was my first time moving in NYC and I was nervous, but if I ever have to move again, I would use them for everything. From the beginning, there was great communications with the company and overall we were very satisfied with the move. We moved from a 5th floor walk up in UWS to an elevator in Brooklyn. We were about 2 hours over in time so be prepared - but the guys never took a break.

Overall, it was a pretty smooth experience, with some expected overages, and a friendly crew. Nothing was broken!

Pros:
- Good customer service - emails were answered quickly
- Promptly at our place at the agreed on time
- Cost was explained (based on estimate) clearly before moving happened
- Movers were very fast and careful
- Packed and wrapped my big items nicely
- Unpacked and removed wrapped from items after moving quickly
- Dealt with other people moving into the same building well

Cons:
- Some overlap in email communications which was confusing
- Estimate based on minimum time and calculated from there (my travel time is 1 hour but on the estimate, it was 30 mins)
- The guys can be loud and since if it's early morning, might want to warn your neighbors

Advice:
- Make sure you do a en estimated inventory of things you want to move item to item so they can give an accurate estimate. This should be on top of the questionnaire they ask you to fill out. I had to get a bigger truck and more guys based on my list, not the questionnaire - that includes how many boxes and bags I had. Because I did this, there was no confusion as to what these guys handled.
- Donna overpack boxes or make them too heavy (like a box with all books) otherwise you will have to repack on the fly read less

One of the owners responded to my move request on a Sunday afternoon, and was continuously easy to reach-responding to me in 10 min or less-the entire week leading up to the move.

The guys were professional, kind, and courteous. They worked very quickly and efficiently, and all of my belongings were moved safely and without damage. I was seriously impressed with the speed at which it all to done, yet everything was done to perfection.

I have been using their service for a long time now. Every time I move, all I have to do is fill out a tiny questioner and I get a response back via email with an estimate. The good thing about the pricing is they explain everything in the terms. Every single thing, from disassembly to certificate of insurance to extra charges everything is well described. So 7 years ago when I moved with the company all they sent me was an email with pricing and nothing else. Which made me think twice about going with the company but then the representative followed up with me and answered all my questions which made me go with them. I knew they were beginners at that time. But on the moving day they did a terrific job. I was very happy and satisfied with the job they did. I recommended the company to my friends and family and they eventually ended up moving everyone in my circle. So they are kind of my family movers now. Since then till now, I get instant response, good service and always courteous and punctual movers. Recently I was in a crunch situation. I had to move out within 2 days which is not so easy for moving companies to accommodate. Plus being a woman I cant not lift furniture myself. I called Great Movers and they were kind enough to accommodate a crew for me in the morning. I was out of the country before my move and my apartment was a mess. I had to be out by 1 pm and I just dint know what could be done. Kevin ended up sending 2 crews for me who helped me pack everything and everything was labeled properly. I believe it was Danny and Johns team, those guys were professionals. 3 to 4 people started with packing and rest of the men took furniture out. (disassembled my dining table and bed ) My buildings super isn't a very nice man but any way as per his ordered we were out before 1 pm . At my new apartment the guys were kind enough to set up furniture items for me the way I wanted. I finished unpacking today and nothing is broken or missing. It was such a stressful time for me and Great Movers were right there to sort it out for me. These guys are the best in business. If you are looking to move in New York City, don't hesitate to call them. The best thing about this company is quick turnaround time. They also respond to you on a Sunday or Christmas.
